Playing with my L-358 Sekonic meter tonight along with some Cybersync units. I can not seem to get the L-358 to register an f-stop in the Cordless Flash Auto-reset mode.

DIP switches - 1&2 off, 3&4 on.

No PW module installed.

Even direct manual flash from Sunpak 555 at 2 feet gives a reading of 1.1 which is probably ambient but is not indicated as such.

Corded flash mode seems to work, giving reasonable readings when the flash is triggered.

Am I missing something (it's been a long week), got a switch wrong, etc?

Open to suggestions.

That is strange. I never saw a f1.1 before, if the light level is too low, the meter just read EU.

So did you press the Read button and the Cordless Flash mode is flashing?

Thanks for the response Lotto. I think I've figured it out...

If I take the meter out of my office into any other room in the house it works fine. The only issue I can see in here (and I've not noticed it before with the meter) is the daylight corrected fluorescent fixture in the ceiling. The manual makes mention of 'Rapid start fluorescent lamps and special lighting...'

I am hoping that is it. I'll do some more testing in other rooms when the household (read wife) is awake.

Actually, she has the same lights in her studio.

Test forthcoming.

Same results in that room. Moved to the kitchen and readings resumed normally.
