WOW! I just bought the 1D Mark III. This camera is incredibly fast. Just what I needed for my sports and wildlife shooting. They weren't kidding when they said this camera was a work horse! Football season is here and I am ready! The pictures are also stunning at the higher ISO's. Very impressive!

I want to thank Mark (MDJAK) here on the Forum for the sale of his camera. He hooked me up with very fast shipping and support with any questions I had about the camera. Great guy! Thanks Mark!:D

Isn't it great. I have never used high ISO with such impunity, and I love being able to walk around in the rain without a care when I've got it with me.

that sort of thing really depends. i mean, my 40d has been soaking wet numerous times, and it operates fine to date. the 430ex sitting on top of the 40d wasnt weather-sealed either, nor was the 28-135, but all works just as they should. id imagine the MKIII would have no problem whatsoever.

No, it is not.
None of Canon dSLRs are water proof; some of them are just weather sealed.

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

My old 1Ds has ?successfully? been under water. Twice. I think the time it was submerged could be measured in milliseconds. No it was not by choice. It's been sprayed with a hose a number of times as well.

I'm a big fan of Canon's weather sealing.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
Full frame and some primes.

Congrats on the MIII, I'm thrilled with mine. I've shot in the rain with my MIIN and never had a problem so yeah the 1D weather sealing is very good.
