My wife took me down to the local Park that is part of the Lake Ontario shoreline today, and dropped me off at one of the benches there with my new 400 5.6 len's. This is what I managed to come up with after waiting quite some time. There was some Caspian tern's fishing but I could not grab them fast enough. However, I was pleased with this Spotted Sandpiper.

Happy to see you active in photography again after your stroke. Hopefully your eyesight is improved. How do you like your new 400? I just love mine. You image here is a little small, as you are allowed to post as big as 1024 pixels on the longest side. If you haven't cropped it, you might consider doing that too, as that might bring out the bird from the bg a little. Keep shooting and posting!

Thank you John, I just sized this for posting and did not crop or anything else. I use jpeg sizer for posting to internet. I am doing quite well, and hope to be doing more as the fall approaches. I have just got this lens, and it seem's to be a good copy. I know that a lot of the people on here have it, and have posted some outstanding images.

Glad to hear you are doing well! There is no better therapy than sitting on a bench at the shoreline shooting birds. Enjoy the new 400/5.6 its a great lens!
