hmm interesting! man...then why is this pc port so unreliable even with screwlock compared to just mounting the PW on the hotshoe...is it just the nature of the PC port? well i have to give it some credit, im getting more flashing with the screwlock cable than without...just not as much as i would if i hotshoed it

The issue might be with the center pin on the PC plug. Bend or move it slightly off center so it doesn't go straight into the socket (for a better connection), as Curtis suggested above. That might fix your problem.

Fighting with PC ports is what persuaded me to getting PW's.

Well i have bitten, poked, and pinched the tip and still no fire. (on both cords)
Ive also rolled over, stepped on, and yanked it (unintentionally) several times.
Do need another cord or just get PW's?

One PC cord is never enough. Always carry a backup. The screwlock PC cords will save you some sanity.

Even with PocketWizards, it's good to have a backup. They're incredibly reliable, but things can go wrong, especially with battery operated equipment.

What Lon said.

I will gladly sign a petition to remove the PC connection in its various forms from camera and flash equipment, in favor of a 1/8" miniplug.

Where can I sign, the pc connection is ridiculous, it is a leftover and should be treated as such, thrown out when it starts to smell. :)

Not using PW transmitters - using old Radio Slave 4's. Have flash on hotshooe - transmitter velcroed to top of flash, and using longtip Paramount Gold 12"(made for Hassie CF lens) household to pc cord from transmitter to camera - never a failure in 5 years digital, 15yrs. film.
