So I was hired by my mom to shoot her 35th high school reunion and this is one of 10 billion shots I have to go through that I liked of my mom...how do you guys process so many pictures? do you just pic a bunch that you think are winners that you want to do touch up to or what?

yeah I wish I got more shots like this but the rest feel so blah to me. maybe cuz its my mom and I felt more comfortable shooting her because all the other shots are basically fully body shots of people or just the boring hey look at the camera look

What I do is do a quick run through of the images and score them 1-Star through 5-Star. Anything that is a 4-Star or higher gets a bit of post processing time spent on the image. Anything below that gets a simple sharpening action run while PS batch processes the conversion from RAW to JPEG. In other words, I don't touch anything less then a 4-Star. After I've run through all of the 4-Star and up images I'll do one more scan of the 3-Stars just to make sure I didn't miss a good one in my initial pass. Anything 1-Star or 2-Star just gets deleted.

BTW...I'm sure most are doing their batch processing in Photoshop or a similar type program.

I do a quick run thru in Bridge and star the junk with one star. Then filter by rating and delete all the 1 star.

Then go back thru and star the ones I want to look at more seriously. Bridge slide show helps immensely since you can apply ratings while watching.

With the advent of CS3 Bridge became a viable tool for organizing photos IMO.

It's fast and functional. I import my images with Bridge, apply my copyright info, and then keyword them for future search. With CS3 Adobe finally got Bridge to work fast and consistent.

I also have ACR set to run in Bridge so I can do quite a bit of my editing in ACR without loading Photoshop.
