An army buddy's back for 10 days before he leaves for Iraq and, since he loves airsoft, we organized a game. I only played "combat photographer" for the very last game. The tricky part of this is to be in the action but not get your lens/filter shot out as well as not to get in the way of the game. It was only my first attempt but I had a blast doing it.

The weather was crazy going from sunny to dark and gloomy. During the game the cloudcover and rain caused the colors to come out very dull so I tried out black and white. In playing with the brightness and contrast I saw that high brightness contrast pictures made the ISO noise make the pictures look a hit more gritty. I may have went a bit oberboard but I like them.

Comments and critiques greatly appreciated.

I like 7, but I think it'd be a lot better if you can see further along where the gun was pointing.

a couple of cameras + eyes that are starting to open + boatloads of patience

Nice shots. I love airsoft (I play on a sponsored team that travels to Lion Claws Ops) but I would be scared to death of taking my 40D out on the field... well, the lenses I use, anyway. Maybe I can take the nifty out there so I don't have to worry too much if it gets broken.
