After much research, I just purchased a 430EX II for my XTi today. Looking quite good so far but would like to know if any of you have any tips on usage, neat techniques, etc ... for this particular flash/camera combination.

(Moved up from 380EX.)

Don't mean to be rude or anything, but, READ: IMPORTANT LINKS: EOS Flash

Just burrowed myself a 580EX for a band shoot this w/e and printed off the Bible (external link). It's an informative read, all 48, 000 words.

Anyone know anything anywhere anymore?

Go to Planetneil.com, check out his flash techniques. Loads of good info there.

Many thanks for the responses and see no "rudeness" expressed or implied ... just an excellent link that you provided ... same goes for planetneil.

I've quickly read through these and know that I will come back to read more thoroughly. I've read many of these types of articles and must say that these two are clearly standouts in my opinion.

More to the point of my question ... I've used flash rather extensively under numerous conditions and was simply doing a check with members of this forum to see if there were any very specific to the 430EX II experiences to share that might be different from others or exceptional with (specific to) this unit.

Thanks again, great reading !!
