Windsor Triathalon - First Time attempting Panning

Happened upon this Triathalon by accident out on a walk with my wife so we took some time to get some shots - these are a couple and I was trying this type of panning for the first time. I was trying to find a balance between shutter speed and blurred background and perhaps I should have made it a bit faster to try and focus the biker better. Also I totally forgot about setting IS to position 2 which might have helped as well.

I've been to Windsor, it's surprisingly big!

Thanks! Does anyone know the legality of using these photos? Clearly I don't have any releases but it is a sporting event. Wasn't sure about posting on my website or otherwise using them.

Hmm interesting thought. I didn't think about it from how much of the face is viewable but more like a sporting event where they are in the public eye - golf, nascar, etc - but not sure what the rules for that are.
