This is argued into the ground all over the world every day I reckon.
For various reasons including AF systems, Canon is a lot better for sports, and I haven't ever seen a person in the media using a Nikon at a sporting event. Why bother getting a camera (Nikon) that is only specialised in still objects, when you can get an all-purpose camera that does the job very well?

Really? At my first baseball game (NCAA tournament regional finals) I ran into a Press-Telegram photographer who shoots Nikon. He has a D2X and another camera that he tripped by remote. At a later event he said that he used to shoot Canon, though.
