Sorry about the question but i just cant find a straight answer :( Ok i have a Sigma EF-500 DG ST flash, i want to fire it off camera, i have the Dot Line Off-Camera E-TTL II Shoe Cord which works great if i need a little distance.... my question is there a hot shoe i can buy that has a PC adapter to connect to my 30D??? thanks in advance for the help

Can you be a little more specific? What do you want to use the hot shoe adapter for? Did you want to take the Sigma flash off camera and use the PC port on the camera to fire it? Did you want to connect the hot shoe adapter to the camera via a very long PC cord?

yes 350D that but something longer then that.... i need more distance....

Pac i want to take the Sigma flash off the camera and fire it using the PC port on the cam....

ok awesome... i was reading about those two items, but i heard through reading that the Sigma wont fire with a hot shoe... so thats y i asked... :) thanks guys for the help

Someone more familiar with the Sigma flash can provide the exact details but I think you have to set the flash to a certain mode (C0?) to use it off-camera.

well the Sigma EF-500 DG ST which is what i have only has 3 setting: TTL MH or ML, but to be honest i dont see y it wouldnt work with those two items....

When you use a PC cord to fire a flash, it looses all communication with the camera. It is like pressing the test button to fire the flash. All that fancy ETTL with dedicated ISO, aperture, shutter speed stuff is all gone.

Is that what you really want?

Oops. Sorry, I thought you had the Super. I'm not sure if you can take the ST off-camera.
