Recently happened to take some pictures of bike racing at a triathalon:

and since clearly I have no model release wondered about the use of these photos as far as posting, selling etc. Are there special rules for sports, public events and that sort of thing?

Here you could sell them to the person in the image, or a newspaper.Legal Rights of Photographers
