And which Metz flash were you referring to? I have the 580EX II and the Metz 58AF-1 and, if I take your "syncs better" phrase literally, I'd say that it's the other way around. At full power, the max sync speed of the 58AF-1 is 1/125, not 1/250. But I'm sure that's not what the "syncs better" phrase was actually referring to. ...Leo

On the two 580s I use an Al Jacobs Black Box battery pack (see link below) on each one.... good for about 1,000 full power flashes between charges. 5DmkII, 5DmkIII, 5DS R, 15mm, 16-35 f/2.8 II L, 100 Macro f/2.8 L, 70-200 f/2.8 L IS, 85 f/1.8, 580EX II, 580EX, 550EX
