I'm fairly new & inexperienced with photography. Have a XT and recently purchased a 24-70L lens after almost 2 years shooting with a 28-105mm. Please leave your comments good or bad.
I usually find my pictures not too sharp or vibrant in colour, not sure what it is I'm not doing. I shoot in Manual mode majority of the time. What do you think of this picture?

A lot of people here over process their shots. There's nothing bad about that shot, but there isn't really much color in it? If you use later light, you might get more color in the sky & less contrast. Seen this?
A few Car Lighting Tips - Updated
It's not just for cars!

I shoot in Manual mode majority of the time.

So do I. Here's a quick way to figure exposure.
Need an exposure crutch?

Or, you could cheat like I did & put in a sky you shot at another time. ;)

Depending on what your in-camera settings are, you can do a LOT of sharpening in photoshop. For colour, like Frank said, there's really not much colour there. Shooting with the sun at your back helps in many situations to pop the colours a bit more, but try finding some colourful subjects first ;)

Thanks for the tips.
As for this picture, it's not too bad?
