sigma 30mm owners, give me insight; trade in 50 1.4 for the 85 1.8?

I plan on getting the sigma 30mm 1.4. I already own the Canon 50mm 1.4. Do you think with the sigma 30mm, it would be better to dump the 50 and pick up the 85 1.8? I guess I'm just wondering how much action my 50 1.4 will be getting once the 30mm is on my camera.

Oh and if you are wondering, I shoot with the Rebel XT/350.

I'm not a Sigma30 owner, but I shot quite a few events over the past weekend with my 17-40L + 85mm f/1.8 combo. I noticed that I didn't touch my 50mm f/1.8. I didn't need it too. You can crop 30mm to 50mm equiv, or you can foot-zoom.

I'd say, 30mm + 85mm would be a good prime combo.

30 and 85, or 30 and 100. The latter is my combo.

I have the 85 1.8 on the way to pair it with my 30. I don't touch the 50 anymore--you should be good.

When I got my Sigma 30, I stopped using my 50. They are pretty close. Go for the 85.

My "go to" prime combo is the 30 and the 85mm f/1.8. They both work nicely together. Only wish I had a second body so I could keep one mounted at all times.
