Which lens should I use with which body?

I was thinking:
24-70 f/2.8L with the 1D Mark III
70-200 f/2.8L with the 20D or 40D

Would this setup be the best way to get the most out of these lenses?

Take it easy champ I wasn't sure and wanted some opinions. Sorry to have disturbed you. I thought this was a discussion board.

Depends on what you are shooting. However, to answer your question, yes your described setup, would be the most efficient means of covering your focal lengths, from Wide to Telephoto. But, a 1 series & 70-200/2.8 is a killer setup. It is, and has been my most commonly used combo.

Hope this helps,

I'd probably do it the other way around, the 1D MKIII has better autofocus which is probably more likely tracking moving stuff on the telephoto, and a higher burst rate for when you need it. But equally, 1.3 crop on the MKIII means the telephoto has less reach...

Mmm, there's sense for doing it both ways around. I'd put the 70-200 on the MK III just for the AF, but I don't think there's a bad way of doing it.

:lol::lol::lol:

Please elaborate next time. If you are shooting low light, the opposite would be best. Longer focal length + better high ISO capabilities...but, if you are shooting in a situation where you need WA, then the 24 on a 1.3x would be the logical choice.

Why this requires a new topic to understand or decide on...and since you mentioned nothing about your intended environment or subjects...

Not to move the discussion beyond what you asked, but if I was using a two body, two lens set up, I would replace the 24-70 with a 16-35 :)

in this way, youll cover 32-320mm (eq), but only 38-260mm (eq) if the otherway around.

r u gonna use 10fps on 24-70? i think 10 fps would be more useful on 70-200 (IMO)

Does this assume that the 20D/40D provides the same IQ as the 1D cropped to the same FOV?
