Well I went down to Paul Brown Stadium here in Cincy for some pee-wee football, a friend's son was playing, but sadly didnt get any good ones of him, and not many good ones IMO. But I would like some C&C on this one, as I would like to get into shooting some sports more, as I enjoyed the experience.

Two things: one, shoot tighter (if possible), and without the ball or peak action, the photo doesn't really tell a story. Nice work though, very sharp.

I know its not peak action, and I missed them draggin him down, but I was thinking maybe it should have been tighter, but didnt know if the other kids standing around helped out the photo at all. Thanks for the tip.

Get as low as you can and as close as you can, shoot tight and crop tighter.

Image looks clean.

If this is a first attempt at sports as you say, I think it is a great effort. IMO, wider angle shots have a place in presentation. The more i look at it, i see the football carrier has barreled 3 defenders like bowling pins, so the story is more than relevant. I can see contrast in referee to the age of the kids. I love the DOF and the lines are very clean and the black border is a nice finishing touch.

Nice job shooter!

Yes, this is my first time shooting sports, with a D-SLR at least. Some point and shoots here and there, but those were on fully automatic with w/e the camera came with. Thanks for the compliment, and I hope to get some more of this team as their year goes on, so hopefully they turn out as good as this.

On a side note, very light editing was done to this photo, I did up the saturation a tad. But other than that, I cropped it some, added the border and what you see is pretty much the image taken.
