Normally, as an un-professional, I would have said, you need to learn to pan better, BUT I love the way these shots look! It gives feel of movement and emotion, as well as a nostalgic look. It tells much more of a story, than simply looking at a picture of a car.
GREAT WORK, but then again, I am a novice, so maybe my compliments mean very little...............The last one is a bit too blurry to me but the others hit beautifully!

Of course, these cars will be moving much more slowly come the weekend. ;)

I agree with madplower4's comment. While I would normally find the blur to be a distraction, it really works well for these shots.

Frank, it's good to be able to shoot some of these "on the hoof", isn't it? It's much better than always being huddled in the corral of some show.

YES! I did get some nice cars in good light at 13 & Woodward between 6-8, though.

It gives feel of movement and emotion, as well as a nostalgic look.

That's what I was going for, so I shot different exposures.
These, except for the RAW processing, are not adjusted exposurewise & are between 8 & 8:35, shot from the Shell station just S of 13-1/2 mile.
EXIF = 1/60 - 1/8 sec, f/5.6, ISO 1600.

Tonight I'll try the 70-200 @ 1/30, f/2.8, ISO 400

The last one is a bit too blurry to me but the others hit beautifully!

Thanks. I LOVE blurs, but usually count on deleting about 99% of them when I get down to 1/2 second. This one was in the 1% that survived:

Here's one at 1/60 that I didn't like as much:

I like the 2nd just because of the juxtaposition of the 56 and 57.

A few could use just a touch of extra saturation. Hopefully the 9pm rule does not apply to Fri night.

You guys need to get out here to Market St. in Livonia, I am looking out of my office window and there are Mustangs/Fairlanes/Cougars/Galaxies being parked on the lawn even past my building. Cars everywhere.

Definitely needs the blur, otherwise it's just another car picture. I would like to see a tad more saturation and move away from the glaring white pizza sign across the street.

Post #5 where? It didn't make the FreeP, but someone else asked yesterday if I sent a shot I took of their car to Ch. 2 News. Didn't see that, either. ;)

A few could use just a touch of extra saturation.

I'll leave that to whoever else uses my shots without permission? :D The point of this thread was to show unprocessed shots as an example to what can be done.

move away from the glaring white pizza sign

I got closer to Duggan's last night & still have to process them. Traffic was three times as heavy & I couldn't get room to use the 70-200. Tonight it will be a huge parking lot out there!

I'm leaving in a few hours from Toronto. I'll be there tonight. I can't wait!!

Have fun!
