Going to shoot my third local MMA event in two weeks and just looking for some criticism. First event I used the 24-70mm f2.8 on my XT and did ok, but needed more shutter. Second event I used the 35mm f1.4L and got the shutter I needed. Here are some shots, need some help on what angles to get, editting, metering mode, ect ect.

1. 24-70mm @ 25mm: 1/200, f2.8 ISO1600

2. 24-70mm @ 54mm, 1/200, f2.8, ISO1600

3. 35L: 1/500, f2.0, ISO1600

4. 35L: 1/500, f2.0, ISO1600

5. 35L: 1/500, f2.0, ISO1600

6. 35L: 1/400, f2.0, ISO1600

Overall the 35L seemed sharper and let me shoot better in the lower light, but didnt have the reach of the 24-70mm. Any criticism is welcome, especially in the editting side, I shoot in RAW and use lightroom and photoshop. Thanks.

I think they look good. You can always use the 50 or 80 primes if you need more reach.

Yeah I have a 50mm 1.8, but I dont think it would focus fast enough. Maybe the 50mm 1.4 or 1.2? I need another body, but I think I am going to try the 35mm f1.4L and the 85mm f1.2 on the second body.

For sports, go with the 85 1.8. It can focus much faster then the 1.2...and it will save you $1200 to put into other glass
