i am so excited about getting my hands on my new 40D
i'll have to wait till monday tho as i had it delivered to work and am not back till then ............. unless i can make a rush trip tomorrow :)

i went for Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS and after seeing the posts of images of this lens WOW i am so glad i did

are there other 40D users here from Melbourne Aust?

The first thing I did after ordering a 40D from B&H was to buy a 40D digital photography guide. Understanding how to use this camera became much easier with the guide.

You will notice that several people in this forum start bashing the 40D because of focusing problems and the rest, to find out later that the problems have been related to user error. It's possible to have hardware problems every now and then, but a guide helps you understand how to use the camera, and more than likely ease you through the learning curve.

Sensitive subject for many.

Myself, I've been using a 20D for 3 years and SLR's for many, many more...

I'm not an aussie, but my sister has lived in NSW for the last 25 yrs. I think the area she is at is called Elands. She lives in a house with no power and now running water. I on the other hand have to have power and a shower. Power for charging my batteries, and a shower for sanity.
