You know, I think I will just scratch 'enter photo into fair' off of my to-do-before-I-die-list   seems more trouble than it is worth.

I gave up on our fair back in 1994 when all four of the photos I entered were rejected and then I saw worse stuff that had been accepted into the exhibition.

I thought I would post some photos of our trip to Joshua Tree earlier this year. John helps me out by doing all of the post processing for me, since I am usually busy with work.

Nice Heather :)

Becky/Zane...Chris says it is a green heron. He's our resident boid expert. I don't think we have tri-color herons in this part of the US but I could be wrong.

T.D. wrote in post #6164559 (external link)
Nope. No tri-colored herons in these parts.

Yeah I totally knew that I was just testing you.

*I* used to do that My mom was a bit extreme, though. Shaving my legs was taboo

Nice Jen :D, is this on an elk farm?

It is in the Cataloochee area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It was at one time an area populated with Elk... that were eventually killed off by settlers and wolves... So the National Park service repopulated the area in 2001-2002. The elk are all tagged and radio collared but they are free roaming....

Let us know how that works out for you. I suggest checking her backpack for the change of cloths. EVERY girl I know who was not allowed make up and ho clothes changed on the way to school and washed their face before going home.

I was never big on makeup, but I know I pushed some limits on what I wore, or didn't wear. It was the 70s, after all.

However, I am shocked at what kids wear so young . . . .How about an 11 yr old(ish) girl at Dave & Busters with her family-- loooow rider jeans and a teeny short T-shirt that said "Lolita." Almost as bad as Neil's Porn Star. I certainly wouldn't allow her to be dressed like that in D&B's on a busy Friday night.
