Okkkkaaaayyy not sure how to get this pic in the quote where it should be..... anyway this is Larry, Moe, and Curly!

My daughter has finches. I love hearing them sing in the morning. Do you have any females?
She's got only males now, but she had 2 pair for awhile, and they were worse than rabbits.

This is my much anticipated staggering to bed shot from the other morning. I call it Peach On A Ladder, because it is a peach, on a ladder.

ROFLOL! Title is a little off though... where did you come up with THAT?

Was just checking the track of Ike when it occurred to me several of Curt's family is headed to the Dallas area. One of Curt's cousins lost his battle with cancer last weekend.

Sorry to hear that Becky.

Not too perky yet Beck, doc told me it takes a while. I got a different iron pill script yesterday that I will start today, supposed to be better absorbed or some such. your iron level is supposed to be at 14, mine's hovering around 8.

Don't forget to up your fiber too. Prunes, or juice, or something, because increasing your iron that much is going to have astronomical effects on other systems in your body. Just sayin.

Oh BECKY! That is beautiful. And it's just screaming for a chance to be in the photos n words thread. Hint Hint.

Congrats!

Tragic news:

A teacher where my wife works was returning to the job after maternity leave. My wife had a conversation about her putting her baby in child care. My wife reassured her. The baby died of SIDS on the very first day of child care. It's scary, because it was someone my wife had considered for Christopher. :(

That is so sad Mike. I have to point out though that SIDS just happens, and it had nothing to do with the childcare person. To think that it is somehow her fault is wrong.

I just watched this tutorial and it's a good basic tutorial for using textures. It doesn't require actions (just process your photo however you want before you use your texture) for those of you that don't have photoshop. (you'll just have to adjust things for your program).

Quoting so I'll remember to go look at it when I'm done MMQing.

Ok, I wouldn't want a surgery to take place here, but it is pretty clean.
I have to admit though, the only reason it looks clean (and empty) is because we had just finished painting, and replacing the carpet.

TPBM is what your livingroom USUALLY looks like.

Ah, the living room complete with Vader accessories.

Hi Cat. :D

 Hi Dan.

OH! I found my Gear Wars book. SOMEHOW, it had been placed with all my photo mags in my workroom.

I re-read the whole thing last night, and it's just as funny the 479th time reading it as it was the first. :D

SIDS is extremely tragic. Our state division of Child Development that over sees the licensing of all child care centers (homes and centers) dictates how we put infants to sleep... I can only hope that your state has the same and that the center followed it. SIDS happens sadly so... My friend lost her son at 4.5 months old to SIDS at home.... Just because it happened at the center doesn't make it the center's fault.... unless they were not following safe sleep practices.... I truly hope they were.... :( Very tragic...

The thing is......

puddlepirate44 wrote in post #6293808 (external link)
The thing about the sleep practice is that the research, which is constantly ongoing, always changes its mind. One decade "they" say don't let the baby sleep on its stomach. The next decade "they" say don't let the baby sleep on its back. That SIDS happens is bad enough, but sometimes the "experts" can make things more traumatic.

That ^^^. And it changes more frequetnly than a decade. I have four children. And for each one I recieved different instructions on the 'safe' sleep position. The experts don't know ****, they base the 'safe' position on statistics. Plain and simple.
[/end of unplanned mini rant]

Harm wrote in post #6293998 (external link)
Not withstanding the facts that the Ads show "diet this", "pills that" (in which 20 seconds is dedicated to saying the brand and what it does, and 40 seconds is dedicated to warn you that you will die and have serious side-effects from taking it", then another "diet pill", then after that "fill your belly with endless foods from olive garden/subway/wendys/burger king/mcdonalds etc. etc. etc." then you get the kids ads.

*applauds rant* I couldn't have said it better!

My hubby watches it. He says if I get Captain Jack Sparrow *now there is a swoon worthy man* he can get JLH.

Hi Cat. :D

And to compare, this is what my livingroom looks like right now (well, about 5 minutes ago)

Complete with Amikah accessories. (Yes, I know, she's sleeping on the couch. I've become lax on that because I like it when she sleeps on my feet when I'm on the couch. )

:p  You have no idea. It bugs the crap out of me that Wade keeps his back massager right there. It is SO out of place.

Edit: Jim and Lonnie... I don't want you for one second to think that I'm painfully tidy. Trust me... our house looks lived in. I'm not as anal as I appear to be. You'll be shocked when you actually see it. I have my areas of unkemptness.
