The cloud detail is there...in my monitor at least. You could always add some contrast to it and it will bring out just a bit more detail. Clouds are always hard to expose when you are doing landscapes unless you have a ND filter.

I am trying to free myself from caffeine and diet soda Bobert, I was doing fine till today and am not sure why. Perhaps work and added stress. I used to live on diet soda, first thing I drank in the morning and much of what I consumed during the day. I know it is terribly bad for me so I am cutting it out.

You know what woke me up and got me off the caffeinated stuff real quick....the sharp pain at the back of my head that I thought for sure was an aneurysm...it floored me when I got it. Wife had to drive me to the ER and I got an MRI. Doc assured me that it was not an aneurysm, and explained that the caffeine in drinks could cause he same thing. I was drinking as much as you all day every day since at that time I worked in a grocery store and went to school full time....but I never did the diet soda thing.

Loved the Mountain men especially the pistol in the stroller and the carving on the powder horn.

We went for a long late afternoon ride and felt our way through the woods under a full moon on the way home, very fun

Thank you :D

Sounds like fun!

 More kewl shots there Dragon Lady.

Your waterfall panning is cool. PPpfffffffftttt on to the POTN doubters, bet if they saw the results they would be doing the same next time.

Thanks, Becky!

And I agree 100% on the waterfall panning

Sorry, I missed it  I do like it (whether it be a mill or a pump, lol) Also agree with the others, nice composition but the color is off in the cloud area

I was looking for a Lake Tahoe shot for TPBM, and ended up going into LR to look for it. I realized I have TONS of shots from that trip that I haven't even looked at yet.

Slacker :p

OK, yesterday was fine with one 12 oz soda, today my head is POUNDING and I've had an 18 oz. soda...what's wrong with this picture?

Hmmm. You are a junkie.

J/K Crissa. When I quit caffeine years ago the headaches were at their worst the second through the fifth day. If you like tea, maybe give it a try as you wean yourself.
Note that I am completely re-addicted to caffeine  so take my advice for whatever it is worth.

a moment of silence for the sacrificed smileys that made this post possible

Yeah. Not one of those things that the normal, well functioning intellect would think of. I received some funny looks from the other POTN members that were there. Probably should've waited until another time. :o

Just wait - another week or two and they'll all be doing it. If they don't drop their gear too many times!

I have weaned myself only to get re-addicted a few times Terri, sucks doesn't it. I was off caffeine and everything when we were tryingto get pregnant and all through my pregnancy and a year or so of breast feeding, amazing how fast you can jump right back on the bandwagon. I know caffeine is bad but that nutrasweet stuff is really REALLY bad.

Actually, now that we have had so much immigration from warmer climates it is funny to see winter coats being worn by some of these folks, while the long time Canucks are still in t-shirts.

In the late 70's the company my dad worked for moved us from Omaha, Nebraska back to Southern California. My dad's job involved servicing the electronics at banks (alarms, security cameras, ATMs, etc.), so he traveled all over the area all day and spent a lot of time outside. One day shortly after we moved, in the late fall he was walking around the corner outside a bank. He was wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt. As he rounded the corner he almost bumped into another man there who was bundled up in a parka. The guy took one look at my dad and the way he was dressed and said, "Jeez, man! You're CRAZY!"

I used to live on diet soda, first thing I drank in the morning and much of what I consumed during the day. I know it is terribly bad for me so I am cutting it out.

I remember years ago my ex and I were on a camping trip and decided to take nothing be decaffinated coffee so we could drink it an night and not have it keep us up. Little did we realize... We both had miserable headaches for a couple of days until we understood what was going on.

Heather and I gave up soda (for the most part) just before she had the gastric bypass surgery. She can't drink it because of the sugar content and I now have maybe one a month. I'm down to one large mug of coffee in the AM and then nothing for the rest of the day and Heather has her one cup of tea.

Trying to get off caffeine is difficult, but in the long run the benefits will outweigh the initial discomfort.

Crissa, sometimes it takes that long for the withdrawals to start. I know when I stopped drinking coffee, the first day wasn't so bad.. but the second day.. wowza!
And I don't drink soda at all (except for the small amount I use to make mixed drinks if I'm having them). I can't stand pepsi or coke.

Ouch...very much so.

I drink water at work in the office now....when I am home working, I drink what ever caffeine free drink I can get my hands on...well, except for liquor   When I drink water though, I usually put one of those Crystal Light flavor packets in the water. Those are the only thing that I cannot taste the diet in the drink...Nutrasweet or similar artificial flavoring. I forget the brand that is put into the packet.

Typically, the pot of coffee is not considered a large mug...just saying :p
