I pretty much broke my slik tripod's legs (saved the head). but I think it's time for a new tripod since the last one was passed down to me and was pretty old and heavy.

I'm looking for a tripod that can get low to the ground as well as rotate the body to do portraits and landscapes.

I'd prefer a three way head.

Is there anything within the Sub $200 that could fit that bill?

Any chance you could squeeze another $100 out of that and push it up to $300?? Some really great tripods in that range...

190XPROB

Looks like this set of legs allows for horizontal mounting of the head. I think I can reuse the SLIK three wya head on this for easy portrait and landscape shooting.

Correct me if I'm wrong.,

I bought this one a few months ago (external link), I love it. The center column goes horizontal, it's a tall tripod and the locking levers are the best I ever used.

Thanks for the tip, that was the other one I was looking at.

Kinda sucks how my slik tripod broke, but now it's a good excuse to buy more gear :)

I have this one (190XProB) and love it! But...
I'm short 5'5.5". And it's perfect for me.

My friends that are around 5'10" and taller the Bogen 055 variant works better so you don't have to extend the center column for normal shooting.
Does the same thing...legs splay out center column goes all the way up and then flips horizontal for macro shooting.

Lotsa stuff, running outta room and a wife...I keep looking at her and wondering???
