My Cactus trigger suddenly stopped working. One day I have shot some pictures with it, the other day it didn't work.

I'm not sure if it's the transmitter or the reciever. But if I press the test button on the transmitter the LED works. It sends an RF signal which I can't test so its just guessing for me.

If I press the test button on the transmitter the receiver doesn't do anything.

I'm sure the channels are the same on both transmitter and reciever. The reciever is powered on too for sure.

I replaced both batteries but that didn't help.

I attached pictures of both the reciever and the transmitter. Maybe you guys see something that isn't right. If you like to have more pictures I can gladly make them.

They are kinda big so I only post the links.

If you guys can help me that would be perfect. I haven't contacted gadgetinfinity.com yet since I would like to fix the problem myself before ordering new ones.

- Edit -

Oh my god, they are working again. I just started changed the channels, and it seems to be working again. Maybe I had chosen channels that were crap or something, I just don't understand.

Thanks anyway !

Welcome to the forum.

That's one reason why these are $30 and Pocket Wizards are $180 each.

Don't be surprised when your cheap gear craps out on you every so often....after all, you get what you pay for.

Thanks.

Yes, you are totally right. I only bought them to see if I would ever use the flash off camera. And to be honest, I can't live without them.

So I will definitely buy the Pocket Wizards or Radio Poppers in the future. Although I got to say that the Cactus triggers work real fine for now.

I did the same thing. I owned 3 sets! Finally got sick and tired of being sick and tired. Using Cybersync's now and all headaches are in the past.

Skyports (external link) work great, and they're cheaper than PWs. My only problem is they don't tighten to the hotshoe and slip sometimes.
