Anyone using :

http://minimalgallery.net/home (external link)

or

http://www.zinkwazi.com/wp/scripts/ (external link)

I'm designing a personal site, I'm a bit of a code monkey and I like to approach my sites in a minimalist style.. but I still have a good sense of style that needs to be satisfied.

I think either will do the job.. but just curious if anyone has anything better:

Looking for:

Easy Site integration - IFrame kinda thing
EXIF Info - People enjoy this
Auto Slideshow ability

Thanks!

www.jalbum.net (external link) - all done on the client, very easy, there's no need for php and server side stuff really, static work fine unless you want comments.

Couple things I read, if you make any changes, since its all client side you need to effectively 'recompile' your gallery which could take.. lets say a long time.

Rather than uploading 1 photo.

I really like the look of jalbum, or how it can look, just don't like that.. meh.. thats annoying for the developer but the USERs will enjoy.. and its about the USER experience

It only builds what's changed, and you only upload what's changed. Typically I put images into folders, and I only upload that folder (it contains thumbnails etc) plus the index.html one level above it.

I have 8 years worth of photos on my personal website, all managed by JAlbum. I do have a manual workaround to make it faster so it doesn't try to check thousands of images from previous years. A full build with thousands of images could take a while, but in practice you never do that, you only do a small part which only takes a couple of minutes.

There's a skin gallery on the jalbum site. If you like it, donate!

There's http://phpalbum.net/ (external link) It uses php but no database. Everything is cached which can take a little bit of time the first time but then it's really fast. (The guys goal was to avoid a DB) Lots of config stuff in the back end to tinker with too.

I redid the front end and made a few code changes for my own site. http://seivertfamily.com (external link) then follow the Seivertography link
