Hi,
I always wonder about this kind of pictures.

https://photography-on-the.net …?t=551734&highlight=paris

What make them look pop up so well?

Any clue would be appreciated.
Thanks

Good gear, well used. Also good processing takes a part, I imagine.

I'd also be willing to bet a nice filter was used to help balance out the sky with the landscape.

Reading the thread will reveal he's using an Xti with a CPL. Other than that, he may be shooting jpg (enhanced in camera) or raw and PP'ing himself with a little saturation, contrast, sharpness, etc.

Why not ask him about his workflow in that thread?

Edit: and of course, good L glass (external link) helps.

Ditto on the filter thought. I have and use a circular polarizing filter whenever I am outside (especially sunny days) and it makes a big difference before I even begin any PP work.

Glad you found it helpful! I have used the CPL even way back in my film days. It just takes so much glare out of the shot . . .

If you don't have a filter, shoot RAW and expose slightly more for the sky at the expense of underexposing the ground. You can bring the shadow areas back in and darken the sky a little at the same time with some PP'ing.

A filter obviously makes this faster, easier and better but hey!

I've never asked a photog on this site to share his work insights and been turned down. PM and ask him.
