Hi guys,

I want to get a portable kit together and I have a stupid question. Is there any reason I wouldn't be able to use this hotshoe (external link) adapter and a Cybersync (1 transmitter 2 receivers) to trigger two 285HV flashes?

Someone told me that this hotshoe adapter wouldn't trigger the 285HV because of the location of the contact on the 285HV.

(The photo is from the flashzebra.com website)

Thanks

Why do you need a hotshoe adaptor? Put the flash on the camera, and plug the transmitter into the cameras sync port.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear, I want to remote trigger the two flashes off of my camera and into an umbrella. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the replies.

I still don't understand why you don't plug the transmitter directly into the camera, and the receivers directly into the flashes. What purpose do the hotshoe adapters serve in your setup?

Probably doesn't have a PC->Vivitar cord to connect the receivers to the flashes.

Troubleshooting 101 (see also: LightRules,perryge):
1) RTFM.
2) Repeat Step 1.
