I have a question. I am going to a Pre-season Jets game this Saturday. Will I be allowed to take me camera in with me? And take pictures?

I'd check on the Jet's website and maybe the Meadowlands' website. Every stadium has their own rules on cameras. I'd even email the team and ask what restrictions on photography they have if you can't find the info on the websites.

And despite whatever answer to the positive you get from either the Jets or Meadowlands management, be prepared for the guy taking tickets to neither know nor care that you are allowed to bring it in.

Print out what the website says, or what the email response is.

And I repeat:

Not saying he won't get official permission but the guy at the gate dealing with 1,000s of drunk, rowdy fans doesn't have the time nor the patience to debate the issue.

Just be prepared to have to take it back to your car...

The miracle of the internet and the official NY Jets website.

The following items may be brought into the Stadium:

• Plastic Bottles (one bottle of water per Ticket Holder with cap removed)
• Binoculars
• Still cameras (non-professional) that do not obstruct views of the field of neighboring guests• Small purses and fanny packs
• Seat cushions
• Clear Aramark bags containing just purchased merchandise
• Hand held radios and TV’s (fans will be asked to turn them on for inspection)

...but Jay is 100% right, the security guard can determine what's "professional" and tell you to take it back to the car.

NO harm in trying...it might spend the game in the trunk, but you could also have some nice photos of Favre...

Cheers,

Please forgive me...

Entirely not my intention to be a d*ck but I work in Sports Television and I've spent nearly 20 years watching how stadium folk treat fans. They give some guy a bright yellow or green shirt and suddenly he's Marshal Earp and ain't nobody gonna do nuthin' if he says no...

By all means, take it (seeing as the web info says it's ok) but take a black cloth or have some other means of safely stashing your gear just in case.

I have been here. Once paid big money for front row seats on the finish line at a supercross event, only to be denied admittance with a rig that met their regulations to the letter.

NO SLR... Point and shoot is ok. Well, You can take an SLR in as long as you don't have a ZOOM lens on it. I got into trouble last time and I had to beg. The NFL, NBA & NHL don't let you in with BIG lenses... Lincensing issues or something. THey are afraid that togs without credentials are gonna sell the pics the shoot and make money on them. Long winded version of small lens only unless you just bring a point and shoot. I am going next week to Jets/Giants...

Hide the lens perhaps? Might be harder these days though with them checking everything.

And if you get caught, chances are not only will your camera go back to the car, so will you...
