Sorry for being so stupid, but I really do love this forum!

I bought a 67mm & 77mm Polarizer filter for an upcoming motorshow at the South Coast, and I accidentally dropped my 17-85 with the filter on, and I was freaking out because everywhere on the net I saw said to virtually demolish the lens cap & filter, and being currently unemployed, I can't afford to replace. I did a quick search here and found that people resolve the problem by prying the cap off and all is good, no damage or nothing.

Is there any problem here that hasn't been discussed or solved? I love you guys and this forum, even though I still get the occasional Lens envy...

Cheers, and again I'm sorry for rambling.
