I finaly got off my lazy butt and away from the Red Sox game on TV to shoot a sunset over a lake near my house. I took all the tips I learned here and from Scott Kelby's books and put them to use.

I tried different color combinations through the white balance. Do some seem to blue? Or is that how a sunset should look? I'm 50/50 with it. I like it, but I'm not sure if that is how it should look. I tried to post a veriety here.

Thanks for looking and any input is greatly appreciated!

I like 4, 5, and 6 best. Great sunsets all around though.

Nice shots I especially like composition on #3. As far as white balance goes and how it should look, I think it "should" look as it did when you took the shot. I shoot in raw and usually shoot in AWB then adjust in PS as needed, usually setting it to daylight or cloudy does the trick.

Thanks everyone for your comments! I made copies in Lightroom when I was tweaking the white balance and kept 3 or 4 versions of each shot. I agree it should look as it did when the shot was taken.

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p
