So-so. Beats shouldering it packed to the hilt, but the bag hangs sort of awkwardly. I've also tried the Lowepro (which looked like it'd be good on the F-7, with its belt loops) and didn't care for it all that much. I've just got the Tenba Large straps but haven't tried them yet. They should be better since they have an extra set of clips so you can secure the back part to both the top and bottom of the bag, reducing sagging; here's hoping.

i'd appreciate your opinion once you give it a try :D.

i tried the straps on my F2 and it was incredibly awkward to wear.

the straps aren't equal length for some reason so i could never get the length right.
the F2 is also relatively large compared to some other bags and most of the Domke's are pretty big so having the bag hanging off your back made it difficult to move through a crowd and hustle around cuz it bounced a lot.

i used it for one trip and immediately took it back off and bought the Domke postal carrier strap pad...that made a world of difference and now carrying a fully loaded F2 for 6-8 hours doesn't nearly hurt your shoulder as much...

+1 for postal strap pad.
-10 for backpack straps lol

that's what i was afraid of. the postal pad is a must-have if you are carrying any type of weight.

OK - haven't gone trekking with the Tenba (external link) yet - just did a rough fit, but it can be configured to work much better than either the Lowepro (not Tamrac, sorry, I lose track) or Domke. It has a total of 3 sets of clips, 2 on the back and one on the end of the shoulder straps. If you hook it up with the bottom pair on the D-rings at the bottom back of the bag, the top back pair on the handle D-rings at the front of the flap and the shoulder straps also on the bottom 2 D-rings, once you've tightened up the straps on the back 4 clips it hangs nice and snug. Of course an F-1x as backpack is awkward in any kind of crowd, but then so is any equivalently-sized backpack (and I commute daily by train and subway with an equivalently-sized backpack; used to use an F-805 but shoulder bags are awkward on rail car aisles). I wouldn't use it for airports, but that's because I don't want the extra bulk of a strap on my carry-on. I will use it when at an air show where I have a ways between parking and the show line. I don't expect it'll stop me using a backpack for hiking either.

I have the backpack strap for my F1-X. I haven't used it on the field yet only test wear around the house. I think it's comfortable and can help reduce pain/fatique when you have to wear the bag for a long time on the shoulder. Even with the mailman pad, my shoulder get sore from this bag after a few hours.

If I know I'm going on trips and will be carry the f1-x all day, I'll definitely take the strap with me. It can really help.

Dan bought them too and wasn't thrilled with them either. I don't think he ever used them again after that first time out.

That looks way more comfortable than the Domke one.

It is - bulkier though. The Domke's actually more usable than the Lowepro though.
