Looks Digital

I recently bought the d60 and have shot some really great images and even had them successfully printed as 16X20. I have had some problems, though, with random issues "looking digital" at various sizes. This may sound silly, but does the amount of light affect whether or not an image "looks" digital, even at a 5X7.

I have been using photoshop to tweak my images, but even before sharpening some images look digital. Help?
If anyone has any suggestions...

On another note, I have figured out a fairly quick, and I use those words loosely, process for tweaking my images. I do wonder though, should I resize my image first or wait until the second to last step, just before sharpening that is?

Anyway, I know that may be a lot to ask, but any information would be helpful.

Lisa,

What do you mean by "look digital"? Can you post some examples?

Regards,

A "purist" photographer I know comments that some of my images don't look "digital" but he has yet to explain what that means!

Cheers
