Not to bring back any bad occasions but the red legs on an Irish woman reminds me of the nick name given to the Irish while working on the island of Barbados during the attempt by Oliver Cromwell to eliminate the Roman Catholic Church in Ireland during the 1600's. Barbados was used as an island for prisoner/slaves and due to the harsh sunburns on the Irish (I am a redhead and... sun+me=bad idea) the natives of Barbados called them "red legs".

Sorry, that was long... but anyway, nice image. I really like the way you framed the shot.

Wow- I'm Barbadian and it is so rare to come across other people who'd get this reference, you say 'called' but they still do, there are areas where the descedants of the indentured Irish still live and get called this.

lol

thanks Kenny and for the information Clickcanon and OEH
I never heard that expression before but can well believe it

you saying that made me think of 'red necks' lol
probably why immigrants to the states were called 'red necks'
... when they didn't cover up properly as workers and cowboys in the hot sunshine  (as in 'didn't know any better')
then over time the name stuck... for a lot of other reasons

lol >
came across these
(by chance/mistake)

thanks Sandy
she really was a eye catcher coming down the street.
when she passed by me and went up those steps I turned around real quick and asked her could I get a shot of her coming down them
(and I hadn't the time to wait until she took her coffee.... whatever..... whenever she would be coming back down)

she was delighted to oblige

by the way, those red legs and all else were exactly the colours she was wearing. I didn't do anything to make the legs red
lol
