I just re-edited most of these. The WB is better but still inconsistent.

I happened to be in Boise for business one of the nights of this rodeo. I had to go even though I was beat tired.

For those who have followed by rodeo adventures it was nice to shot in an arena with pretty decent lighting. Shutter speed were still a little to slow but they are much better than my previous stuff. Everything shot at ISO 1600, f/4.0, 1/400 and around 135mm to 200mm.

Gallery is here (external link).

From what I can see, these are pretty nice shots but they have horrible WB. Did you shoot RAW?

I've been working on that for a day now and finally gave up. I did shoot in RAW and posted that same question here https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=553685.

The lighting type was consistent throughout the night. The exposure was slightly longer in the center of the arena as the the light fell off. I tried getting the WB and tint looking good on the first image and then applying that to all images. That obviously did not work. I am having trouble even getting two images taken 2 seconds apart to look the same.

Of course any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I realize what I should have done but can't seem to fix it now. And I thought that was the whole point behind shooting RAW.

its phasing in the lighting. Im no expert in it but I believe when under flourecent stadium lighting you should shoot at 1/60 or 1/125 to get a consistant WB across the frame....Im sure someone more qualified will jump in here.

Very cool. I went last year when I was home.. it's a bit of a kick trying to shoot those guys. You literally have eight seconds to get the shot.. (if they make it to eight seconds)..

Dan, I know this sound weird, but I love you man. I knew that but this has been driving me nuts for two days. Why else could 2 pictures 2 seconds apart have such different WB. I went through everything again and will repost them in a few minutes.

The colour on the revised images look much better. Indoor rodeo is always tough. I have a pro-rodeo coming up to shoot indoor in a couple weeks as well and I have no idea what the lighting is going to be like so I'm a little nervous.

Thank you. The inconsistency is still really bothering me. I posted a follow up question here. We'll see if anyone can enlighten me as to how to fix this.

can't say much about the pictures to help you out but just wanted to say your right here in my neck of the woods. I'm just over here about a mile away from the stadium.
