But I have a question for you.

Why does the bird in the first picture stand there with one leg lifted up?

Both legs are down. It's just the angle of the shot that puts one behind the other.

I think the pictures are a great documentary of your trip it's just unfortunate that the highlights blew out so much.

Birds often rest with one leg tucked up in their feathers like that. I have a couple of parrots who rest like that, but I don't know why.
