Can anyone please tell me how to create the text box below. Step-by-step in Photoshop.

Rectangular Marquee tool to select the area you want..
Create New Layer Via Copy..
Make a layer mask for that layer..
Levels: Lower white level to taste (or lower exposure..Or Multiply)..
Text on top of everything..

or, you could just make a black rectangle box and lower the opacity of the layer...then type on top...that is how I would do it...
