I know you can mount a gripped XSi on a tripod, but what about XTi?

I dont see why not, all grips have a standard 1/4 screwmount

Of course you can, all grips have the mount hole on the bottom. However all the grips I have owned (all Canon) sag when mounted on a tripod. So back when I was still using grips I took them off if I was going to do any tripod work.
