Best bet is Pentax W series or the Olympus. Both produce nice images underwater. Both can be had for under $200 pending which model. The older models do just as well which are only roughly 2yrs old if that.

At Cypress Gardens we used a G6 and underwater housing and those took some awesome photos but required editing to compensate for the environment. Most cameras now have a underwater setting.

Would anyone recommend the aquapac?

I don't like the images from the Olympus SW series...for slightly more you can get a Canon A series with a Canon housing that will produce far better results, imho. The pentax is slightly better than the Olympus and if I could only choose between those, the Pentax would win...even their older model vs the newer Oly 1030.

Is the aquapac the ziplock baggie? No, I wouldn't. For boating, kayaking etc maybe but not for serious get in the water stuff.

The Ike housings are all well and good, but they are larger and bulkier. That means more drag and also more buoyancy (which means more lead to offset it underwater which in turn means a lot harder to manage on the surface).

If the photographer is going to be on/near the surface, the best bet is to get as small a housing as possible. That will make it easier to dive down and shoot upwards, and also to swim with the housing. Such a setup can be used on the surface and underwater.

If you dont need a lot of depth, one of those submersible Olys will do quite well.

Cute shots! That's exactly the kind of thing I like my Oly SWs for and they do a good job.
