A couple of times recently my Zone Alarm has popped up with an alert telling me it has blocked access from a 'spy site'. It has happened on the same page each time, but not every time I have been on that page. Here's the page:

The name of the so-called spy site is ****. Is this anything to be concerned about, or is Zone Alarm being trigger-happy?

AFAIK, "****" is mearly a site used to transcribe very long URLs into much smaller, more manageable sizes.

I've never heard of it being anything but passive and transparent but anything's possible I suppose.

Okay, thanks. It's probably that then. Zone Alarm does get a bit jumpy sometimes!

I'd rather have slightly paranoid security software than it go the other way. I guess what it is getting stressed by is that tinyurl can be used to disguise where a URL is really pointing to. Like many things in life this can be used for benign or malign purposes.

Yes more POTN strangeness on my PC  I never did get to the bottom of all the other strange goings-on that I occasionally complain about on here!
