Here are the first 8 images of my first shoot with the 1Ds Mk II + 24-70L + other glass I already owned. Most of my clients won't know the difference, but the processing latitude you get with files from the 1Ds is amazing.

Anyway, hit me with any feedback you have. This isn't my best work, but given the distraction factor of the new gear I'm pretty happy.

No 2 is my pick. some of the others are a bit overexposed in the faces for my liking but it could be the style you were after.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, I do push the midtones pretty hard. Part of the style.

I don't blow out faces tho. Except when sun hits the sides of them or whatever. But I try to avoid that.

The 2nd one really stands out to me (from a 'this must have been shot by a pro' point of view). The other's don't appeal to me but that isn't to say they aren't good.

Nice work!

I quite like your style Luke :)

My favs are 1 (nice B&W) and 2 (for the sun/strobe crosslighting). Can't recall if you've said in the Aussie thread, but what strobist gear do you use?

Strobist gear? What's that? No such thing if you ask me :p

(Can you tell I'm a strobist cynic?)

I used an off-cam 580EX II controlled by a master 580EX for that shot.
