Old dairy barn...

I love this old barn that is on our property. We have no desire to tear it down, and have actually been thinking about doing more repair work on it to keep it around for a few more decades. The timbers inside are pristine.

Nice shots. If the timbers are in good shape, it makes a lot of sense to do a little work to keep it intact.

Please do keep it around. Barns are becoming a national treasure. Every day many timber frame barns either fall down or get torn down.

Get the old paint stripped and repaint it soon. Get the ivy off of the wood and roof. Keep the vegetation cut as short as possible around the perimeter. And finally make sure the roof is as water tight as possible.

None of those will cost you much money expect for the paint. Keep it dry and it will last another hundred years.
