I just got my POTN OpTech strap and I can honestly say right now I've only had it on the camera for about 10 minutes but I absolutely love it. I don't think I'll be changing this strap out till stitches start popping and things start ripping, which from the build quality is a LONGGGG time.

doesnt it look cheesy with the all the words printed along the back of it? like some kinda 5th grade art/silkscreen project?

No? You don't have to get it with the silkscreen if you don't want. Also the silkscreen quality is very nice it's not "cheesy" nor 5th grade art project quality. I choose to support this community though which I feel all members should do/consider at some point or another. I see this community as a GIANT never ending photography book filled with thousands of amazing pictures and non-stop information.

I've had both.

On balance I preferred the Optech - although mine came from a group buy on a different forum...

I had the Lowepro and it just wasn't cushy enough for me. I tried my friend's op/tech strap and fell in love. I sold the Lowepro strap along with my XTi and I'm about to pick up a POTN op/tech strap for my new 40D. I doubt I'll regret the switch.

do you really think anyone notices or cares? the reason to buy the POTN strap is to get a good strap and support the site...not to make a paris hilton fashion statement :D.

what is with so many people on this site saying that anything related to looks is 'paris hilton fashion statement'
do you guys grungy nasty clothes everywhere and look like zztop or somethin? i'd rather something be functional AND look decent... it is a factor to those that have self respect! ;)

The strap looks perfectly fine, you don't want the POTN one so get the non-branded pro loop strap..simple fix.

or of those consumed with what they look like and how they think other people perceive them ;).

i have the POTN strap but i don't use it on my camera because i dislike the pro loops. i do use optech straps on my cameras tho with the standard attachment.

Is the super classic just like the pro loop (in terms of comfort, padding..)? Just a thinner version, and no branding?

Seems it's also available in loop form.. which do you guys prefer: loop or the 3/8 webbing?

edit: Also is there any difference in super classic and envy? They look really similar.. it seems it's.. the material?

i much prefer the webbing. the loops tend to get twisted easier and the webbing is definitely a stronger attachment.

besides, i never remove a strap from a camera unless it's being replaced or the camera is being sold or sent in for service....very rarely.

Super classic is thinner and more narrow than the Pro. I think the SC is better suited to someone with a 40D/5D without grip and with 70-200 f/4 lens, whereas the Pro is more needed to support the weight of a 1D/5D with grip and with 3+ lb. lens. Super Classic is plain black, available in web or pro loop, or you can get any of a number of other Optech ends separately.
