Thats the cool thing about opitcals.....it is an innie, its the upthroat of a petunia...but its a great illusion:D

This illusion was a lucky mistake. I wish I had the skill and foresight to create it on purpose. I knew it was a picture of a petunia, but when I opened it up on my screen I couldn't visualize it properly. It looked like a bump on a purple sheet, rather than a cone that traveled into the flower.

Nice one! I was still convinced it was an upward bump until I read

It looked like a bump on a purple sheet, rather than a cone that traveled into the flower.

. Reminds me of the picture that could be a beautiful young woman or an ugly old hag. Well done!

Exactly. It's called Multistable Perception. Again this one was accidental, but I'm seeing why it worked and I'll be actively trying to reproduce the effect asap.
