I've just ordered a Lowepro Slingshot 200 AW to tote around my gripped 20D, Sigma EX 50-150mm F/2.8 APO, Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8 plus other bits and pieces.. My thoughts were a smallish bag when I travel light instead of taking my fully loaded Lowepro CompuTrekker AW.. My principle mode of transport here in Laos is a motorscooter and my legs..

Does anyone use the Slingshot 200 AW?? What are your thoughts??

I used my Slingshot 200 a few weeks ago while walking around Washington D.C.
It felt fine with my 40D with 17-85 lens attached. I also had my 28-135 IS and 70-300IS inside.
It really comes in handy not having to take the pack off.
The small locking strap under the right arm really stabilzes the weight and distributes it much better.

Hopefully you enjoy it. The SS bags are my favourites. I have a 200 and 300.

My Slingshot 200 AW arrived today.. I had a bit of fun arranging the dividers to suit my gear..

This is what I've got in the Slingshot..

Gripped 20D, Sigma EX 50-150mm F/2.8, Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8, Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8, Tamron SP AF 1.4X TC plus odds and sods like CF cards, batteries, filters etc.. There is even room for my mobile phone, sun glasses..

At a pinch if I cram I can also pack my gripped 350D in the top compartment and my 430EX under the mounted Sigma..

The only negative is it slings over my right shoulder,, I prefer my left but I'll just have to adapt.. I think I'm going to like this bag..

Yo.
Congrats on the new bag.

I have mine jammed pretty full. Only complaint is when it is fully loaded it can get a little heavy on just one shoulder. But then again, I am carrying a gripped 30D, 24-105, 55-250, 30 1.4, 85 1.8 and a 430EX. Not to mention other various doodads including a Sony P&S. I kind of wish they would design some type of accessory strap that would allow you to shift some of the weight to the other shoulder.

Great bag though!

Thanks Nick..

Lee,, I'm going to pack only what I need for the shoot and leave the rest at home.. Probably my gripped 20D, Sigma Ex 50-150mm F/2.8, Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8, Tamron SP AF 1.4X TC and possibly my 430EX which I hardly use anyway..

90% of my work is street photography candids which includes heaps of walking so packing light is essential for me..

Yeah, I have all my stuff jammed into the 200 with accessories (like chargers and such) in a seperate small duffel type bag. I really need to get one large bag to hold everything and and then just use the 200 as a small carry type bag.

I like mine because of the portability. I walk around in the woods a lot for wildlife shots and it is nice not having a big bag to get in the way all of the time. I also like to swing the bag around to my front and use it to rest my elbows on for steadier shots.

Ooh, now there's an idea Im going to steal next time I'm out and about and need a slower shutter speed.

Camera. Lenses. Bags. CF. But most importantly, the PoTN Strap

I mananged to get out and about with my new Slingshot 200.. I walked around for a few hours in quite warm conditions with only a minimal kit packed

Gripped 20D, Sigma EX 50-150mm F/2.8, Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8, Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 and Tamron SP AF 1.4X TC plus spare batteries, CF Cards, mobile phone..

I could have taken a packed lunch but the cafes here are so good and cheap.. I really like this little bag and it suits my needs..

I've had mine a couple years now and really like it for hiking, recently I just purchased a carbon copy of the bag at sams club, only 39 bucks... seems pretty well built for a copy. bigger zippers and some extra pockets and built in lens cloth. I used it to put all my macro stuff into
