This is a pole that I hope will encourage most of you to look within yourself and discover what makes your images great. I hope that this will invoke some interesting conversation and possibly bring new light to things we struggle with.

thanks for voting!

If my images would soley be used in print, then I'd have voted "after printing".
Like my "chemical" images: after printing.. I didn't spend too much time watching negatives ;)

But a lot ends up on the web, so I voted "after PP", since IMO that's an intergral part of the imaging process.

It depends on what we consider "satisfied." Purely as a matter photography, it's once I can see it on the camera and know that I caught what I was intending too. It's not a final product yet, but I am happy knowing that I captured what I was intending to - the lighting, posing, composition, exposure, etc.

Over time, I have found, for some reason, that I shot more for me than for others. Maybe because no one else cared?! :) Anyway, once I get done in post is usually when it hits me.

Ocassionally, though, you pop one through the viewfinder, and all you can think is WOW! That's what keeps me coming back.

You don't have 'never' as an option so I haven't voted.

Im kinda disappointed that more people haven't voted for composing the shot. I love it when everything falls into place. and I know before i take that shot its a good one. I try not to have to adjust my pics thru post processing. Yea sometimes a photo needs to be tweeked. But my vote was for #1. You gotta know its gonna be good before you shoot...

Satisfied is simple, it is when you feel you have the image you are happy with. The point when you would be happy leaving it the way it is.

This is going to sound rude but not intended to be. If you are "never" satisfied with any photos that you take, why take any pictures? Or for that matter why even own a camera?

It is a sad thing to say that you are satisified with your images, it leaves one with no goals, no room for improvement.

Ansel Adams was never satisfied with his work and continually changed the PP aspect.

I try to get the best shot I can.

Then, when it looks good on my computer screen, I can play :D

See, with that definition, I'd change my answer. I'm not going to "leave it the way it is" until I've finished the process. That means that if it's intended to end up as a print, I want to see the final print. For online use, I want to see the final processed, resized, image.

But, I'm satisfied with the photography aspect once I have shot the image and captured what I intended/envisioned. After that, it's more a matter of making sure no one (myself included) screws it up. :D

I voted for when I see it full size on the computer however it changes depending if the shots for someone else then I am satisfied when they are, sometimes you get a great shot and you know it as your taking it other times if I am having problems nailing a shot I will shoot till I am satisfied I have the effect I want and then I am happy when I look at the LCD and other times its after PP.
