This show (Camarillo, CA) has the perfect setup for this kind of work, the sun is at your back and the hills are about the perfect height and distance, perfect conditions for IS and the full AI servo settings-Canon makes me look like a pro, ah, I hope a little of it is some skill on my part... Also I usually don't change lenses on my 1D, I leave the 500 on it and I use a 20D for ground shots with either a 28-135 or 17-40, when there's more than one airplane flying I use a 100-400 for backup to the 500 on the 1D.
