I am now storing everything on CD and duplicate external hard drives. When I rebuild my old PC, I'll be using the new hard drive on that too. I thought I had it covered when I started backing up to my new ext. hard drive and a second hard drive I installed in my PC. My computer crashed and burned and when I tried to transfer the new files from the ext. hard drive it seized up and became a paperweight. I was stupid, I know that. When storing information, on any medium, NEVER assume it is going to be there in a years time or longer. Review the important stuff regularly and store it in 3 or more spots. Files can 'disappear' from CD's I have been told. Canon 450D with battery grip, Canon 17-40mm f4.0L, Canon 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS, Canon 50mm f1.8, Canon 70-200mm f2.8L IS, Canon 1.4X L Teleconverter, Canon 430EXII Speedlite, Canon RC-1

Instead I invested in a secondary drive enclosure that goes in my optical drive bay. That puts the 2nd drive inside my laptop and connected at the highest speeds possible, while still being easily removable for security. I've also partitioned a small section for use as a Photoshop Scratch Disk. Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here
