Going to be leaving to go on vacation to Bahamas and want to take only a couple lens .... so I'm curious what would be a better option ..... 30mm 1.4, or 85mm 1.8. To go along with my Wigma (10-20mm) and 17-55 2.8 .

7D, 24-105 L, Sigma 17-70, Sigma 70-200 2.8 Macro, Sigma 10-20, Sigma 30mm, & Canon 85mm 1.8

Leave the primes and take your 70-200.

I was just there -- I'd suggest the 100-400 be added.

You'd enjoy it for the compression of sunrise/sunset shots or lightning.

Since my 70-200 is my most used lens...I too would have to suggest that as an option. My last trip to the islands found a 16-35, 24-70 and 70-200 in the bag...along with a 1.4x TC to go on a 1Ds. With the exception of a couple of shots, the 16-35 could have remained home...the 24-70 was wide enough in almost all cases.
