Hi guys...

I'm going over to Europe for work and I'm gonna stop in Paris for a few days and hit some of the main sites...

I assume I'll mostly be using my EF-S 17-55, but do you think I should bring my other lenses and if so, which ones?

I have:

70-200mm 2.8 IS L
100mm Macro
50mm 1.4

And do you guys think I should bring a monopod or tripod or it's not worth the hassle?

Any advice is appreciated... Thanks!

I would just bring one lens, in your case the 17-55mm. I recently went backpacking in Europe and the last thing I wanted to do was carry around more than one lens. With all the walking, sightseeing you will do, it will weigh you down.

just the 17-55IS. I have been to many cities in Europe and never needed 'longer', but always wished for 'wider'.

I'd bring the 70-200 also. When I was in Paris last month I used my 17-40 and 70-200 about half and half.

I'd leave the tripod at home, not worth lugging it around Paris especially when you have an IS lens with you.

For traveling, unless I have some specific stuff to shoot, I bring only two lenses... 17-40/4 and 70-200/2.8. And pretty much always also 1v next to my 1dmk2 :) Shooting Velvia is still fun :)

You should only need the w/a unless you want to perch on a bench and take "people pictures"...that would be fun over there.

Wide. And bring Fast.

17-55mm. 50mm f/1.4 as this can be quite useful for shooting inside museums and galleries which are dark and you cannot really get close to things because of barricades or crowds!

17-55 only IMHO. If you had wider i'd suggest that, but you can stitch if you need to (remember to shoot manual exposure and manual WB if you do). I used a P&S last time I was in Paris, it's just easier.

All will come in handy.

Just suck it up this time and feel the pain of extra weight, then you won't need to ask again, you'll just be able to give great advice, like what your getting here.

And the next person to ask this, you tell them to just suck it up and feel the weight so !!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I was just in Paris, and went about 75% 35L and 25% 135L. I'd bring the 17-55 and 100 macro if I were you.
