I am 6'2" and 290 lbs., and need a bigger strap to fit my frame. I currently use an older cloth canon strap (film era) with some 3/8 webbing spliced in to make it longer. I almost ordered the optech from the POTN shop, but decided to ask you guys what you thought first. Who makes the best strap for larger users of larger cameras with larger lenses? Does any one out there have a strong opinion on this?

I use the POTN straps and add the extensions to them (also available via the POTN store). Works great for me and I'm 6'4".

Take a picture, it lasts longer (external link)

Others can correct me on this--- but I think the straps on the 1D bodies are longer. I personally took my Canon straps off and use aftermarket straps--- I like optech--- but like them a little thinner--- so I trimmed mine down--- not sure it is a long strap though-- POTN strap is Optech for what it is worth.

depends on what you want. Im a bigger guy myself and wanted something to go across my chest. I ordered this http://upstrap-pro.com …een=PROD&Product_Code=BND (external link) and it goes across my chest perfectly Im 6'0 300 and it fits me perfectly. But I like a thin strap with no pad.
